On November 11, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra went on its fifth Europe tour. Late November 13, their first concert on the tour was held in the landmark Smetana Concert Hall in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The ambassadors and counselors of nearly 20 countries, among others Spain, Egypt, Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Japan, and Peru, etc., attended the opening show. Conducted by the band’s chief maestro Mr. Yang Yang, the show turned out so successful that at the end of each program, the musicians had to stand up again and again to respond to the long-lasting applauses.
Since 2011, in almost every music season, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra goes on its music tour. Mr. Deng Jingshan, the band leader said that in the post G20 era, the band shoulders the mission of culture exchange. Europe is the highland of symphony, he said, as a young team, we will often go on tours hoping that the European music culture will help improve the band’s performance skill. At the same time, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra is an important part of the city’s culture out-going to the world.
The insiders also consider the band more and more professional in the seven years after its establishment. The band’s pursuit of sound is ever improving and has gradually formed its own style. The sound balance and the cohesion appear more fluent and more mature than they were when the band was first founded. Mr. Deng said that the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra had grown steadily and will keep growing.
