On November 15, the first imported Australian snow crabs entered the customs from the Hangzhou airport, weighing 75 kilograms with a value of $3,800 Australian Dollars. This is the first time living snow crabs are imported to Hangzhou. According to the airport authorities, with the rising living standard in the recent years, there are not only more and more importing enterprises, consulting the procedures of import inspection and quarantine, but also an increasing number and variety of imported goods. From January to October this year, the Hangzhou airport had imported 515 batches of seafood, amounting to 442.5 tons, valuing US$7.95 million. Salmon was the only kind of seafood imported at the beginning. Nowadays, a variety of seafood is imported, such as Boston lobster, green crab, abalone, and mussel.
